SUSTAINABILITY

I VALUE SUSTAINABILITY & STRIVE TO MINIMISE MY ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT

Thoughtful production

All paper products are printed in small batches in the UK to minimise the potential of waste. I am moving towards partnering with a print on demand company for art prints to further reduce waste, only printing what is ordered.

Sustainable papers

I work with printers that care about the environment and use papers from sustainable sources, without compromising on quality. My greeting card paper is FSC-certified, recyclable, chlorine-free and wood-free. Envelopes are produced in the UK from 100% recycled, FSC-certified paper and are fully recyclable. Art prints are also printed on various FSC-certified, quality papers, each chosen to suit the print design.

Careful packaging

I choose cardboard postal packaging that is recyclable and always re-purpose packaging and packing materials I receive myself, where possible. The tape I use on packaging is fully recyclable and free from animal products. I ship my greeting cards plastic packaging free. Some stockists require cards to have protective sleeves for their store environment, in which case I provide Nativia biodegradable sleeves made from corn starch. I ship my art prints in protective sleeves made from this material, which can be composted at home (takes about a year in UK temperatures) or industrially composted.

Aiming to reduce my environmental impact

I believe in transparency and honesty when it comes to sustainability. I am trying to run my little business as sustainably as possible, however, it's a tricky thing to be perfect on this front, especially as I receive deliveries myself that are wrapped in plastic. I realise this will evolve as my business grows and I am always looking for ways to improve environmental impact. If you have thoughts on ways to do better, please share these via my contact page by clicking this link, I would love to hear from you.
